We love photographer Edward Steichen, something very dark and ghostly about his pictures

Christy Johnson has collected images and stories about catholic girls first communion in her book “Feast”. The images seem so fragile, yet the girls look very proud and in a way it is rather spooky.

We often look to the art world for inspiration, especially we like “Outsider Art” or “Art Brut”.  These works has a own aestetical value that gives insight to a place beyond our reason, another dimension which is frightening, raw and emotional

Hans Prinzhorn (1886-1933), who as an art historian and doctor who collected works from his patients at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Heidelberg. This cumulated into the “Prinzhorn Collection”, a world wide known art collection that has inspired artists like Alfred Kubin, Paul Klee, Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso. Works from this collection was shown amongst others at the exhibition “Inner Worlds Outside” at Whitechapel Gallery, London in 2006.
